Authorial Narrative | RCA Bursary Post-Grad
Rooted in direct field research and observational sketching, this narrative series explores the architectural and social landscapes of the UK’s forgotten post-industrial coastal towns. Through a panel-based sequential format, the illustrator captures the melancholic beauty of decaying infrastructure and the quiet resilience of communities situated on the geographic and economic periphery. Format: Multi-panel narrative sequences. Methodology: Direct field study and archival research of UK coastal sites. Themes: Industrial heritage, environmental shifts, and regional identity. The work serves as both a visual archive and a fictionalised narrative, translating the textures of salt-worn concrete and rusted steel into visual communication.
